Rainer Dronzek joined AAI in January 2005 to further develop the company's vertical markets and establish a Chicago office. He has spent the past two decades in engineering and management positions in the simulation and aerospace industries, specializing in simulation modeling, process analysis and redesign, operations, and detailed and system-level design.

In 1996 Mr. Dronzek formed Simulation Modeling Services, LLC (SMS) to provide simulation consulting and software reselling services to companies across a variety of markets. SMS offered simulation planning, design, development, data collection, and training and analysis services for the healthcare, manufacturing, material handling, distribution, and service industries.

Prior to SMS, Mr. Dronzek spent more than 15 years in McDonnell Douglas, Schlumberger Wireline Services and General Dynamics. While at McDonnell Douglas, he developed simulation models for aerospace programs, manufacturing operations and next generation engineering development environments. In addition, he coordinated enterprise-level quality system improvements and strategies, including lean manufacturing and six sigma. Mr. Dronzek also led departments responsible for quality management implementation and quality assurance, and headed the design review team that certified the readiness of the space shuttle cargo processing test equipment following the Challenger accident.

A prolific public speaker, Mr. Dronzek has presented papers and workshops at numerous technical conferences including the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference, the Society for Health Systems, the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Simulation Solutions Conference, the Lean Management Conference, and the Winter Simulation Conference. Aside from his speaking engagements, he contributes to the simulation industry through his leadership roles and active participation at the Institute of Industrial Engineers, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and Health Information Management Systems Society. Mr. Dronzek holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.
